Living Green at Ocean Shore Hardware


	At Ocean Shore Hardware, “living green” is more than just a catchphrase. We work hard to put into place systems and programs that are environmentally friendly as we run our business, in addition to stocking and selling products that will help you live green.

Reusable tote bags
We encourage you to buy and use reusable tote bags. When you buy something in our store, every bag that you bring in means one less plastic or paper bag going home with you. And every time you bring your own bag, we donate a nickel to one of the Coastside's public schools (you get to pick which one!). We like to think globally and act locally – and we think that together we can save the planet for future generations.

So what do we do for the environment?

In terms of what we sell, we have a strong commitment to the Coastside. We participate in PG&E’s partner program for compact fluorescent lightbulbs (CFL’s). Through our participation in this program we are able to offer CFL’s at a very deep discount off the regular price. If you haven’t started converting over from incandescent lightbulbs to CFL’s, we encourage you to do so. The energy savings is huge!

Solar attic fans (special order)
Battery charging stations and rechargeable batteries
Reusable tote bags – for groceries, hardware, and other errands you run. Keep a few in your car.

We accept the following items DURING BUSINESS HOURS only:

Fluorescent lighting:
An Ocean Shore Hardware Associate must be present to accept the lighting
Latex-based paint
